Job Purpose: continue of set up of the farm which was abandoned for 30 year and only half year ago brought back to life, operate and manage it providing leadership with highest level of business operations.
Expectations: detailed oriented, efficiently applying hands-on approach to the management, able to keep the bigger picture in mind, keen to solve problems.
Key roles & responsibilities:
- Advice on the best products to the farm and farming methods depending on aspect such as size of the land, water availability, climate, farm potential, market opportunities;
- Recruitment and training of all staff members;
- Oversee infrastructure development and management, irrigation, farm maintenance, safety, cleanness and organization;
- Setting up operations, crops, livestock, staff and financial documents and recommending most efficient methods;
- Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands the expectations
- Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other supplies are regularly stocked as per the needs of the farm
- Scheduling repairs and maintenance and replacement of the equipment and machinery
- Handling the marketing and sale of the farm to assure maximum profit
- Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with directors to prepare budget and financial reports
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Agribusiness, Animal science or equivalent
- Knowledge and practice of preparing budgets and financial reports
- Extensive experience in farming-related field
- Documented management experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to make the decisions under time pressure and in stressful environment
- Excellent communication skills
