About us
Cultivating Success in Modern Farming

Welcome to Farmer’s Trend, Kenya’s leading agricultural information and service portal dedicated to empowering farmers with knowledge, tools, and connections. Since our founding, we have grown from a simple blog into an integrated agribusiness ecosystem, recognized with multiple agricultural awards and visited by over 500,000 individuals monthly. We are united by a common goal: transforming agriculture into a sustainable, profitable, and respected venture for all.
Our History: A Journey of Growth & Innovation
2015 – The Seed is Planted
Farmer’s Trend began as an agricultural news publication blog, founded by a trio of passionate Kenyan youth. Operating from a modest office in Nairobi’s Central Business District, our mission was clear: to address the critical gap in accessible, practical farming information for Kenya’s smallholder farmers.
2017 – Branching into Tangible Roots
Responding to farmer demand for quality planting materials, we expanded our operations by establishing two dedicated fruit seedling nurseries in Murang’a and Nairobi. This move marked our evolution from a purely digital information provider to a hands-on agribusiness, directly supplying farmers with certified, high-yielding fruit varieties.
2020 – Adapting and Connecting
The global pandemic reinforced the need for resilient food systems and direct farmer support. We launched our Agrotourism and Farm Tour Product, creating a unique platform for hands-on learning. This initiative allows farmers to visit model farms, gain practical experience, and network with successful agri-preneurs, bridging the gap between theory and practice. In response to changing work dynamics, we also strategically relocated our headquarters from Nairobi CBD to Ruiru, Kamakis, allowing for expanded operational capacity.
2024 – The Digital Marketplace Revolution
In a significant leap forward, we launched the Virtual Agrovet (https://agrovet.farmerstrend.co.ke/), Kenya’s pioneering online multivendor platform for agro-inputs. This innovative product connects farmers directly with verified suppliers of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, and equipment, ensuring transparency, competitive pricing, and convenience. It has rapidly become a trusted hub for both agro-input suppliers and farmers nationwide.
2025 – A New Chapter of Corporate Growth
Marking a decade of service, Farmer’s Trend was formally incorporated as Farmers Trend Limited. This milestone reflects our sustained growth, financial maturity, and long-term commitment to shaping the future of African agriculture. Today, our family includes 16 permanent, skilled professionals and provides seasonal employment for over 30 casual labourers across our nurseries and operations.

hi am a new farmer interested in watermelon farming do you offer any trainig on the same.also what is the market like for melons in nairobi
Growing watermelon is simple. Once they sprout, watermelon plants require very little maintenance. Most of the time, you just leave them alone and watch them grow. There are many different varieties of watermelon. In recent decades, seedless watermelon varieties have been developed that are easier to eat. When most people think of eating watermelon, summer picnics come to mind – a nice, cold slice of watermelon on a hot day is a real treat. However, there are lots of other ways to use watermelon. Because it has a very high water content, it’s not possible to store watermelon for long periods of time.
