The fruit now has gained international recognition, being voted the second best fruit on the planet in a ranking on the TasteAtlas website.

Surpassing popular fruit varieties, such as strawberries and oranges, Brazilian jabuticaba was the best placed Brazilian fruit on the list, with a rating of 4.7 stars out of a possible 5. Despite the high evaluation, jabuticaba was not able to surpass mangosteen (of Asian origin) in the site’s ranking, which was ahead by a small margin among user evaluations.
